The Arising of the Serpent

Amantha Murphy is a Shamanic Healer and Priestess of the Goddess. Her passion has always been with the Land. Ireland, the land of her roots, speaks to her the loudest. It was her Grandmother who gave her the gift of the awareness of the earth as the true Mother. Amantha started her spiritual work publicly 36 years ago as a clairvoyant and moved on to trance mediumship within five years. Amantha's teachings have come from her spirit guides, ancestral teachers, her Grandmother and the land Herself. As a child her Grandmother would take Amantha out onto the land to the places that held special energy. There they would sit and commune with the fairy folk and the Shining ones - the Tuatha De Danann.

Amantha has been running Sacred Pilgrimages successfully in Ireland since 1992 and returned full time to her roots in Co. Kerry, Ireland in 1997. She encourages women to go through the Celtic and pre-Celtic Goddess archetypes.
"Ireland holds the energy of the Great Goddess in Her many faces and the feminine energy in Ireland is very powerful. As we reconnect with the Land and Her many sacred places we move instinctively into re-membering, through the archetypes, and the myths and legends of the land. This can also draw forth in women, aspects of the shadow, the dark Goddess as well as the Wild Woman, the Child, Mother and the Crone."

Amantha's focus is very much on pre-Celtic Shamanic teachings, Sacred Ceremony, the Celtic Wheel and Rites of Passage. She conducts workshops on a variety of subjects including: Pre-Celtic Shamanism, "Astro Drama", as well
as "Faces of the Goddess" and "The Arcane Teaching of the Tarot" specifically for women. Amantha is also available as a Dula (one who is with women when they are giving birth, especially home-births). Amantha is the mother of four and Grandmother of three, which she considers to be her greatest act of beauty.

A series of workshops based up

Pre Celtic 8-fold Wheel

With Stories and Myths

Of Eiru

Focalized by Amantha Murphy

1st workshop: Sunday 20th January

Faha, Killarney

In Eire we have a wheel. Often called the ‘Wheel of the Sun’ this goes back through time immemorial and is sometimes seen carved into our stones within the sacred sites.

This wheel is based upon the four Fire Ceremonies – showing the continued Faces of the Goddesses - as well as the solstices and equinoxes. Each province in Eire holds within the land places where these ceremonies were held; for example in Leinster we have New Grange for the winter solstice and here in Kerry, Munster, we have the Paps of Anu where Bealtaine is still celebrated.

This workshop will focus on the wheel, from the view of the Celtic and Pre-Celtic Goddesses of Eiru, and share in the stories and myths surrounding us awakening within us again "The Way of the Seabhean". Throughout time as we recall it, there have always been women who have held sacred The Way. These were the light bringers, the keepers of the Lore and Land, the Holders of the Sacred Spiral Wheel, the wise old woman, the Cailleach - the Seabhean.

We are now on a path of re-membering our heritage as women, as Seabheans..

‘From my earliest memories my spirit guides have been my constant companions. The spirit and fairy realm was more real to me than this reality. I spent my growing up years each summer with my grandmother, a healer and midwife, here in Kerry and it was she who introduced me to the Sacred Way and places to commune with the Great Mother. My work, my family, my loved ones, my passion for the Great Goddess and the Land - this is what moves and feeds me. The Land is my Mother and she has held me for as long as I can remember. It was, and still is, the arms I fall into when in need or deep emotions are invoked within me.’

Amantha Murphy is a Shamanic Healer & teacher and follows the path of the Goddess. She started her work professionally thirty-seven years ago as a clairvoyant and moved into trance mediumship and healing within three years. She has been running Sacred Pilgrimages successfully in Ireland since 1992 and returned full time to her roots in Co Kerry, Ireland in 1997. Amantha facilitates workshops on a variety of subjects including: “Pre-Celtic Shamanism, levels 1, 2 & 3”; “ Astro-Drama”, “Rites of Passage”, “The Arising of the Serpent”, “Celtic Wheel”, Faces of the Goddess” & “the Arcane teaching of the Tarot” for women, meditation groups and women's groups. Wakening Woman's power: Using the archetypes of the Celtic and pre-Celtic Goddesses we journey together in bringing forth, in a safe and nurturing environment, those aspects of ourselves as Women – as WOMAN. We unfold ourselves to allow the maiden, the mother, the crone and the wild woman to emerge; bringing integration and trust of our own inner calling. Recognising ourselves as wondrous Goddesses of delight, passion and wholeness. We will work with the Myths of our land and ‘re-call' Bridget, Eiru, Aine, Mabd, Tealta, Mocha and Tlachtar to name but a few. Allowing ourselves to embrace the Callaugh as that which we grow towards, just as we are now held in the arms of Anu, our great Mother Goddess.

Our myths and legends tell of women of Power – Goddesses – who enriched our lives, held us, fed us, sang to us and fought for us. These great women show us the many faces we carry and that which we hold in our memories; - lives of freedom, lives of passion, lives of creativity and respect; for ourselves, for others and for Nature Herself. As this land changed and grew with each coming people so too the faces of Her changed and slowly became hidden. Yet within the land, as within us all, aspects of wholeness reside – just waiting to be acknowledged and expressed. We owe it to ourselves as to those Great Ones to honour all Faces of Woman and allow the Serpent of Knowledge and Wisdom to arise again:
TO BE FREE AND ALIVE!
